My name is Cristina MANEA and I am an economist in the Monetary Policy Unit of the Monetary and Economic Department at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel.

I received a Doctoral Degree in Monetary Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) under the supervision of Jordi Gali and Alberto Martin. My PhD chapters focused on (i) monetary policy with credit-constrained and unconstrained firms, (ii) inside-money, and (iii) optimal policy with ZLB and fiscal limit constraints.

All three topics were largely inspired by the policy discussions and research work I have been exposed to while working at the European Central Bank prior to the PhD, and as a PhD fellow at the Bank for International Settlements.
