About

My name is Cristina Manea and I received a Doctoral Degree in Monetary Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2020. My PhD thesis focused on (i) optimal policy with ZLB and fiscal limit constraints, (ii) monetary policy with credit-constrained and unconstrained firms, and (iii) inside-money.

All three topics were largely inspired by the policy discussions and research work I have been exposed to while working for two years prior to the PhD at the European Central Bank. In my final year of PhD studies, I was a Senior Associate at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel.

In September 2022, I joined the Monetary Policy Unit of the Monetary and Economic Department at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel.
